Kaibab National Forest Closed due to Extreme Fire Danger

Wildfire

As of 8:00 AM June 23, the Kaibab National Forest, which bounds Grand Canyon National Park on the north and south sides, is closed to all public entry due to extreme fire danger. Grand Canyon National Park is still open, but all campfires, smoking, charcoal, and open flames are prohibited, except for camp stoves in designated campgrounds.

Seasonal Closures Begin at North Rim

The staff on the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park will begin to shut down most visitor services and facilities on Thursday, October 16; the North Rim will remain open to visitors through December 1 or until snow closes Highway 67 leading into the park.
