Harvey Butchart's Hiking Maps and Notes. This is a link to the archives at Northern Arizona University. Dr. Butchart was the ultimate explorer of the Grand Canyon's backcountry- he discovered and rediscovered numerous rim-to-river routes and made sixty first ascents of Grand Canyon summits. He kept meticulous notes and maps from his 12,000 miles of hiking over his 30-year Grand Canyon hiking career. Warning! These notes are of little use until you have gained some Grand Canyon hiking experience.
